One of the things I’m most passionate is helping pastors thrive on their journey of building healthy, life-giving churches that are reaching people and making a difference in their community. When Leslie and I first started The Life Church, we didn’t have a lot of resources to draw on. The first few years were hard, and at times, very discouraging. I’m thankful for the people who supported us, spoke life into our dream and encouraged us to keep going even when it was tough. During that time, I purposed in my heart never to forget those early years.
Today, things might look very different, but I’ve never forgotten that pivotal time in our journey. I see how much God did in my own life and what those challenges produced in me as a leader and in our church. They weren’t easy, but I wouldn’t trade them for anything. We have faced our share of challenges and we’ve learned a lot—much of it the hard way. I know that learning from other pastors and leaders has been invaluable in my life and I want to make what we’ve learned over the years available to you. We definitely don’t have it all figured out, but my hope is that what we’ve experienced so far– both the challenges and the wins – would be helpful so that together we can reach more people and advance the Kingdom.
