This is always one of my favorite services in church life – the whole church coming together to worship and pray. We can’t forget the power of prayer!
Don’t miss church tonight at 7p at the Cordova campus. All the campuses are coming together. Great worship. Updates from Durban. I will be sharing a Word.
I’ve been telling the church the last few weeks that God has dropped some new faith in my heart for salvation decisions. We’ve had an amazing few years of harvest at our church. Since Easter 2006 we’ve seen 18,598 salvation decisions.
In the past 12 months alone we’ve seen 7,996 decisions. This includes:
2,219 through our Next Generation ministries
293 through our TV Ministry (people who call in and say that they prayed with me on our TV program to receive Christ)
5,484 adults in our weekend services
I’m feeling strong about August and I’m praying, fasting and believing for 1,000 salvation decisions in August alone – the month of a thousand souls. Check back here for updates and running totals for the month. Come on, release your faith with me!
I’ll also be starting a new series called “Need a Fresh Start?” on August 7-8, and Chris Caine is going to be here the 3rd weekend of August. All in all, it’s going to be a strong month that we’ll kick off with a special back to school MEGA PRAYER and WORSHIP NIGHT on Wednesday, August 4 at 7p. It’s a great month to bring a friend. We’re praying and believing for them.
It’s hard to believe we’re only 2 Sundays from launching our first international campus in Durban, South Africa. Since we moved back from Africa 14 years ago to start The Life Church, this has been a dream for Leslie and I as well as a dream for our church. Planting international campuses in strategic parts of the world is a key part of our vision for the church.
As the Campus Pastors for Durban, Greg and Kristin Evans have been doing an amazing job getting things ready. We’ve been averaging 30 people at Bible Studies/Prayer Meetings and yesterday had 51 people at the first launch team meeting. In addition, 7 people gave their lives to Christ. Awesome!
Here’s a quick, rough video – I’m in downtown Durban giving an update from the space we’ve leased for the new campus. The video only shows a glimpse of the children’s spaces and auditorium. We’ve got great children’s space and the auditorium will be able to seat at least 400 people. I loved the space right when I saw it…
We’re tying up all loose ends and we are in a place of faith for the finances to launch strong. If you are able, you can give toward the Durban Campus right here. Thanks for playing a part in Africa.
This Saturday we’ll meet at our Cordova Campus at 8:30a and want everyone to join us as we do all we can to restore hope to those who have lost so much due to the flooding in Millington, Tennessee. Remember to wear your red serve shirt and bring any tools listed with you – claw hammers, screwdrivers, sheetrock knives, mallots, push brooms, dustpans, shovels, rakes, work gloves, and wheelbarrows. If you bring equipment, please label it so we return them to you. If you need more info, contact Dr. Joe & Kelli Carson for more info at jkcarson@thelifechurch.com.
