Making a Fresh Start means that we are accepting what Jesus has does for us and inviting Him into our lives. God loved you and me so much that He gave His only Son, Jesus Christ to die on the cross. The Bible teaches that through the cross we receive forgiveness from our sin and through His resurrection, we have new life and a new beginning – a fresh start.
Romans 10:9-10 says, “That if you confess with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.” The word “saved” is a Bible word that simply means “to be pulled out.” Think of it like being rescued from a near-death situation. In the same way, when we make a Fresh Start, we’re rescued from an eternity spent in darkness and saved from a purposeless life on earth.
Making a Fresh Start is only the beginning of your new life in Christ! After we become a Christian, it’s important that we begin to change our lives so that we can grow stronger and get to know God better. God loves you exactly as you are, but he also wants you to change and live up to the full potential He created you with. God has an amazing purpose for your life. But we can’t discover it on our own; we have to ask God to help us figure it out and be the person He’s called us to be. One of the most important things we can to do is get to know God. When we understand God and what He’s like, it helps us grow closer to Him, become more like Him and change things about ourselves that hold us back in life. He has so many good things for you, and it’s important that you take the time and effort to pursue growing as a Christian. Here are a few things that can help you discover more about what it means to be a Christian and move forward in your walk with Jesus:
Bible and Prayer – The first thing you need to do is start reading your Bible and praying every day. This helps you learn about God and how to live your life so that you’re becoming all that He created you to be.
Find A Church Home – Find a life-giving, spirit-filled church that teaches the Bible and commit to going every week and getting involved. Your life will be enriched and strengthened by consistently being in God’s House. Click here to find a church in your area.
