August Fresh Starts

I am still absolutely in awe at what God is doing in our church right now. We came into August with a word from God, a stirring to believe for 1000 salvation decisions in the month of August alone. So we started praying and claiming August as “The Month of a Thousand Souls.” I asked our church to bring friends who were far from God, and they came.

Well, we crushed our goal – in total, for the month of August 2010, we saw 1338 salvation decisions! I made the announcement at our Wide Open Leadership Night. Our creative team did a really cool thing for the Wide Open service, they built a stage wall with the exact number of people who received Christ. 759 and a Mega Weekend Ahead!

God is blowing our minds this month – a massive harvest of souls. As you know, at the beginning of the month, we declared August as “The Month of a Thousand Souls” and as of today we’ve seen 759 salvation decisions. What an amazing number! And we still have two weekends left in the month.

I’m so fired up about this weekend. Our great friends, Nick and Chris Caine, from Hillsong Church will be with us all weekend. Chris is an amazing communicator who ministers around the world and she always comes with a “right now” word from God. She’s also a great friend and has been coming to our church for many years. She loves our church and every time she’s with us, our church moves forward. It’s going to be a huge weekend!

Three quick things about the weekend. First, if you attend our Cordova Campus, I want to ask you to come to our Saturday Night Service at 5p. When you come on Saturday Night, you help make room on Sunday and Chris will be speaking live that service. I love the Saturday Night Service. It’s one of my favorites. Secondly, don’t forget we’re having two Chick Nite services on Sunday night – in Collierville at 6p and in Cordova at 7p. Again, Chris will be speaking live at both. Thirdly, we’re opening up extra parking in the back of the Cordova building to make room during the 10a and 11:45a services. Look for the signs and our Parking Team for assistance.

It’s going to be an amazing weekend. Bring a friend, they will love it!

We’re having an amazing month, believing for 1000 salvation decisions in the month of August alone. Week #2 was awesome, so many people giving their lives to Christ. We’re almost half-way there!

Month of a Thousand Souls – Friday Update

As you probably know, we’re believing for 1000 salvation decisions in the month of August – the month of a thousand souls. My goal is to give a quick update every Friday throughout the month. Also, I added a “ticker” on the right hand margin that will be updated every Friday.

Beginning this past Sunday through our Wed Services we’ve already seen 214 salvation decisions. It’s only the beginning – keep praying and believing

Also, don’t forget that this weekend I’m launching a new series – “Need a Fresh Start?” – it’s going to be a great one to bring friends, family, co-workers, neighbors, etc.
