I’m pretty pumped about our TV program these days. It’s got serious
momentum, kind of taking on a life of its own. We just completed our
first year on TV and we’re now on 4 times in the Memphis market.
Saturday at 1a on CBS and then on Sundays we’re on at 5a (NBC), 8a
(FOX), and 11a (NBC). We just found out that our program is the most
watched program in the Memphis metro area on Saturday nights at 1a.
That’s pretty cool. We were also the first local program to air in HD.
Several months back the engineers at the NBC affiliate asked Brian
Pitre our video guru if we would be willing to be the pilot, the first
program to air HD because of the quality of our program. I love that
the church is leading the way. But the biggest thing to me is the
number of people praying to receive Christ. In just the first quarter of the year we’ve had 178 people respond to let us know they prayed
to receive Christ watching our TV program! That’s amazing. In fact,
that’s already 5% more than the total TV salvations in 2008. Check out this video of one of our most recent episodes.

I love it! A high-quality relevant TV program reaching Memphis for God. Only God knows all the people (beyond the 178 who responded) that we’re impacting for Him. Let’s keep taking the initiative to reach out to others.
Pastor John,
Just wanted to let you know how much God has used you to change my life. I grew up in a christian home — my father was a pastor and my mother was a strong woman of prayer, but I never actually personally made a solid decision to follow Christ for myself – I made the decision to please my parents, but I never actually meant it from my heart. As I grew to be a teenager, and then into my 20s, I battled with emotions that were ungodly. I got sucked into the sin of pornography and was trapped by my fleshly, evil desires for many years. As I was searching the internet one day, I somehow found myself searching for churches in Memphis. I was drawn to the Life Church and decided to try it for myself. As you preached the message about the difference between being religious and actually living a Christ-focused life, I understood why I had let myself fall into such evil sin that I couldn’t climb out of. I had allowed myself to become religious — I went to church because I had to, I lifted my hands because everyone else did, and while I did so, I lost my desire to have a true relationship with Jesus. After hearing your message, I decided to recommit myself to Christ. I decided it was time to break the spiritual ties I had allowed myself to have with pornography, and since then have seen my life changed dramatically. I have become a happier person and everyone notices how I have changed. Just wanted to say a HUGE thank you for allowing God to use you to minister to so many people hurting and looking for a way out of sin. Your messages are so relevant to everyday life and the challenges we face as believers that I always feel refreshed and pumped after leaving on Sundays. Thank you for following the leading of the Holy Spirit!
God Bless You and Your Family!!!
Keep up the fantastic work! Spread the word across the ENTIRE world!
