There’s a ton of stuff going on right now. I’ve been really bad about blogging lately, so I thought I would do a little mind-dump and ramble and hopefully in the process update you a little bit on some of d’ happenins’ (not in any particular order or priority):
- We had a great weekend in church. Services were full of people and life.
- Our attendance is hovering at the 2000 mark. Pretty awesome.
- Here’s an amazing number - 110 salvations throughout all of our services this weekend!
- Collierville service has had 16 salvations in the last 4 weeks. By the way, I’m super pumped and proud of what’s happening in Collierville. Attendance is strong, but even more importantly the services there have been really awesome. Getting great feedback.
- I just finished my first workout of the week. Wish I were more motivated.
- About to go hang with a pastor friend of mine who is facing some big challenges. Can’t ever forget our early years when it was a fight for survival.
- I’m getting excited about Vision Night(s). Just found out October 5 is completely full, and October 12 has about 140 spots available. Feeling good about that night filling up fast as well.
- Prayed hard this morning for upcoming Miracle Offering (Nov 1-2). We really do need a Miracle Offering as we launch our Cordova expansion.
- Anna is “Anna Harrison” in a school performance this Friday. It’s “The March of the Presidents” program and she’s the wife of William Henry Harrison, the 9th President of the United States. Wish you could have seen her in her costume when I dropped her off at school this morning. Priceless.
- Took Mark to a cool, little golf clinic for kids on Saturday. Pretty awesome. He did great and loved it. Trying to get him started early so he doesn’t have his father’s handicap.
- Headed to St. Louis to hang with my great friends Dino Rizzo and David Meyer. Should be a fun quick trip. Back Friday for above mentioned program.
- Leslie is awesome. Really busy at church, settling into new house and sowing the above mentioned costume.
- Sexual Revolution Series continues this Wednesday night. I’m going to be talking about pornography. Been a little bummed by attendance on Wednesday nights. Not sure if people are too busy? Or they feel like they’ve heard all this stuff before? Just got to keep plowing.
- I’m pumped that both LSU and the Titans are 4-0. I’ve found myself pulling for Farve (who broke some records this past weekend) more than I’m pulling for the Green Bay Packers. Hmmm.
- Fired up about AXIS service on Wednesday night with Lecrae. Should be off the hook. Teenagers have been breaking attendance records week after week.
- I’m so incredibly blessed to have an amazing staff and team. They are all really awesome. Couldn’t do it without them. Wouldn’t want to.
- Love the weather in Memphis the past few days. I’m a self-confessed sun-a-holic.
Pastor John, I love reading your blogs because I’m always encouraged by how real and honest and humble you are. You are awesome awesome awesome!
Just so you know, I would much rather be in Wednesday night service instead of Accounting II and Statistical Methods for Business!!! :o)
Your teaching is way more interesting than my professors!
