Collision, One Prayer, VBS, China

So many things to mention/update. Lots of stuff happening around church. First, I heard some great reports about Collision youth camp. Props to BJ, Michael and the crew for putting together an amazing camp. So many kids experienced those life altering turning points. They’re already planning next year’s camp.

One Prayer launched on Sunday and it was just a strong day in church for the second weekend in June. It was such a strong day in church (considering that its the middle of June) - first, the attendance was incredible - we were up 60% from last year. Second, the video was incredibly well received. It was only the 2nd time we’ve done a video message in church. Craig Groeschel’s message was amazing and the quality of the video on the screens was great. Third thing that blew me away - the 47 people who stepped across the line of faith and gave their lives to Jesus! I guess I shouldn’t be surprised, humbled, amazed, blown-away - because we’re seeing so many people make commitments every weekend. But I can’t help being extremely thankful that God has answered the desire of our heart to reach people and build a church that could really touch the unchurched. I love seeing that fresh start number jump every week!

Our annual VBS kicked off last night. Kids everywhere. We had the most kids last night of any VBS we’ve ever done. But even more significant - volunteers everywhere. Someone told me last night that we’re almost at a 1:1 ratio - kids to volunteers. I can believe it. We have an amazing spirit of serving. Many of the volunteers came back from youth camp on Friday, and are right back in the mix this week with VBS. Cool stuff.

And lastly, Team China is back in Hong Kong on their way back to the US. All is well. Can’t wait to see them.

And I thought things were supposed to slow down in the summer : )

So excited about all of this! I emailed Kelly and Nate for a full VBS update this morning — from what they said, everything sounded GREAT. I would have loved to have been able to stay longer to help with VBS. It was a bit hard to get on that plane Sunday night! :)
