Servolution

This Saturday, a team of volunteers from our church flooded Cordova, Collierville and the Hollywood area to serve their way to a revolution in this city. It was so awesome to see all these red shirts buzzing around the church on Saturday morning, excited to come together and serve our city. We’ve been in a sermon series called “Servolution”, focusing on the Biblical mandate for us as believers and a church body to take on the cause of those in need, and Saturday was kind of the culmination of it. We put on a city-wide Serve Day with over three hundred volunteers who signed up to serve Memphis and the surrounding areas and show them the love of Christ through meeting practical needs.

One of the coolest things about the weekend was having Dr. Cheri and Joseph LeBlanc of Healing Place Church in Baton Rouge come be a part of Servolution. They brought up two mobile medical and dental units to be a part of Hollywood block party. They are the founders of Healing Hands, a group of health care professionals and volunteers whose mission is to provide compassionate medical care, health screenings, and education to hurting people by uniting people in the body of Christ who have the ability to do so. On Saturday, we saw so many people who would not otherwise receive medical and dental services come to these incredible mobile clinics and receive the help they needed for free! From tooth extractions and cleanings to vaccinations, these great teams used their professional skills be a part of this incredible day of serving Memphis. We’ve heard so many great stories of the people that were touched by this day…be sure to check back and read through some of them in the next couple days!

    Hello:

God moved on our behalf this weekend. What a privilege to follow the vision of The Life Church in winning the lost and making disciples.

    Dear Pastor John,

Words can never express how Dr. Cheri and I felt as we served along side of the team at The Life Church this past weekend. The emotions ran from proud to honored to humble and everything in between. How Christ can pull together teams over vast distances and pay attention to all the details! We serve an awesome God! Thanks for allowing us to be a part of your church family and a part of Servolution!

    Because He Lives,
    Joseph and Cheri LeBlanc
