Laguna Beach, Spelling B, Go Titans!

It’s been a wild week. Leslie and I were in Laguna Beach, California from Sunday until last night. We had an incredible time with about 20 of our closest friends, pastors from some great churches around the country. We were connecting with Brian Houston, Senior Pastor of Hillsong Church in Sydney. We had a full day together just talking shop and getting inspired. It was an amazing day. Brian and Bobbie Houston started Hillsong Church 24 years ago and what a church it is today! They’re influencing people around the world because of their heart and passion for the local church. Pastor Brian poured into us for 7 or 8 hours. It was awesome. By the way, we’re hosting them this Thursday night - Brian Houston, Hillsong United, and Reuben Morgan for a special downtown service at the Orpheum Theatre. The tickets are close to selling out so jump online and get yours right now.

It was also great being with Gary Clarke (Pastor of Hillsong London) and Phil Dooley (soon to be Pastor of Hillsong Cape Town). Props and a shout out to Father Dino for putting it all together. There’s no one like him. What an amazing friend he is.

We flew back in to Memphis last night, and were up bright and early driving the kids to school and being there for Anna’s Spelling B. She made it into the top 12 of her school and finished in 5th place, the last girl to survive! We were proud parents, not just because of her spelling, but because of her confidence and poise. She’s growing up so fast!

We’re off this afternoon to spend the weekend with our friends, Kevin and Tracey Mawae in Nashville. Kevin is the center for the Tennessee Titans. Got to say a prayer for the Titans as they play Jacksonville this weekend. Looking forward to going to my first Titans game. Mark is really pumped about seeing a “real” football game instead of just watching on TV.

We missed you, Pastors, “sort of”. Glad you had a good time and were getting filled up with Brian and the other pastors. Pastor Mundo did a great job filling in. I’m glad we are in a church where, week after week, our pastor has something fresh and challenging from the Lord for us. But where we also have other great pastors on staff, and that we get to hear them sometimes, too.

What a great church we have! What great vision! What great administration!

    Love in Him,
    Kay Fast
