Just wanted to mention a new series we’re starting this Sunday called End the Secret. We launched a pretty cool web site as a supplement. You can check it out at EndtheSecret.com. Here is some of the promotional text about the series…
Secrets—we all have them. They can seem harmless, but the truth is, secrets have the power to hurt us and those we love, to hold us captive and to bring shame into our lives. The deepest secrets we’re afraid to share come with painful regrets, leaving us shrouded in the shame and fear of the decisions we’ve made and the consequences we’re left to face…but this can be your day for a Fresh Start in life. 1 John 1:9 tells us that if we confess our sin, God is faithful to forgive our sin and cleanse us from all our unrighteousness. You don’t need to live with the shame of your secrets any longer…get your secret out in the light and get on the road to healing.
Its going to be a really good series to invite friends and family. We’ll be tackling some tough issues like addictions, family secrets, etc. Nancy Alcorn is going to close the series at the end of September.
One of my favorite parts of our service each week is praying for the people in our world that we’re believing God for and my goal is always to provide the right environment/atmosphere in church where they can come, feel accepted, and connect or re-connect to God. I feel like that’s the best recipe for making a difference. We provide a healthy, relevant church environment that people are proud to bring their friends and family into. When they feel safe doing that, all kinds of incredible things happen. I think that’s why we’re over 1200 Fresh Starts this year. Just last night we had 21 Fresh Starts between our adult service, Axis and Kids Life.
I’ve been praying all week for this series and the services on Sunday. Looking forward to a powerful weekend.
