Aspire to…

Take the Lead – 4

This week we’ll finish the subject of aspiration. I didn’t want to move on to something else because I think it’s a critical theme. We’ve been talking about the fact that aspiration (Godly ambition) is the beginning of leadership. It’s probably not likely that you or I will take the lead in any area if the desire isn’t there. I read this quote from Wilbur Wright that I thought was cool. He was talking about the months leading up to their first ever flight and he said, “We could hardly wait to get up in the morning.” I think that’s a good indicator of how aspiration can lead to motivation and new levels of success.

Over the next few days, let me give you some things we should all aspire to…

1. Aspire to make God famous in your life

Unfortunately I think this expression, “making God famous” has become a bit of a worn-out Christian cliché, but it’s a powerful concept. We’re his ambassadors and our life should be like a mirror - magnifying His greatness to those around us.

Joshua 9:9 – They answered, “Your servants have come from a very distant country because of the fame of the Lord your God…”

There is something really attractive about a healthy life that is thriving and flourishing… when we’re surrendered to Him and our life is healthy and appealing. When I say healthy I’m talking about our physical health, our relationships, finances, etc.

Lord, help us to live surrendered to your plan and purpose for our life. Give us the strength and discipline to live out positive, healthy, flourishing lives that magnify You and make You famous.
