Spring Break, Mr. Mom, and Z Pizza

Having a fun time with my kids this week. Leslie is in Australia at the Hillsong Colour Conference. It’s Spring Break so I’ve been Mr. Mom all week. I’ve really enjoyed hanging around with the kids – sleeping a little later (except for Mark), watching movies (I recommend “Balto”), and just doing nothing. Believe it or not, it’s been a good time of slowing down for me.

You can learn so much from your kids if you stop and listen and think about what they’re thinking about. Here are a few one-liners from the week…

“Dad, are we rich?” – Anna, 9 years old (said while drawing a picture for Sanju, a little girl we support in Nepal)

“But Dad, it’s part of growing up. I bet you cried when you were my age.” – Mark, 5 years old (said while Dad was telling him to get tough after he scraped his thumb)

“Settle down” – Dad (said a thousand times : ))

Leslie is having an awesome time with the guys at Hillsong Church, catching up with and reconnecting with friends from around the world. We miss her tons, but we’re holding down the fort!

PS – We’ve only been to Z Pizza twice!
