Today we had the privilege of being in what I think is one of the greatest churches in the world. As I wrote yesterday, for almost 20 years, Nairobi Lighthouse has been making an impact in the city of Nairobi, in their nation Kenya and to the ends of the world. Our church, The Life Church of Memphis, is living proof of its vision and influence. As always, the worship was packed with God’s presence. Their dance team was in the words of Reinhard Bonnke, “hot,” and as always, there were tons of people giving their lives to Christ at the end of the service.
It was a privilege for me to preach, but the best part was catching up with some of my greatest friends. One of them is my man, John Magangi. He has a special place in my heart and the biggest hands I’ve ever seen. Check out the pic of him and Michael.

Today was a great day at the Life Church of Memphis. Pastor Bob message was great and as usual the wonderful presence of God surrounded us all with the protection He can only provide.
After listening to the worship song by Pastor Matheny daughter my heart desires to go an experience the move of God in the Nairobi Lighthouse Church and to see Africa. I would imagine it brings change each time you go. It’s amazing to think that in the Spirit their is no distance. Wisdom of God is my prayer for you and your team.

Glad to be part of Nairobi Lighthouse Church. I sometimes wonder the bunch of people I would have had if God would have not planted me in NLC. The investment I receive weekly from the service and then in the afternoon in SOL is awesome worth it. This awakes me up to know that I am on a date with JESUS.
Thank God for Ms Amy for such rich investment on dating, boundary courtship and generally the life in marriage.

I have learnt so much about christian living and soul winning and sharing Christ has become my passion. For anyone to enjoy being part of NLC’s big Family it is important that one gets linked to a cell group(small group). It is in the cell groups that there is life.

i been in the States for the last 11 years, but i have not found anything like Lighthouse.
Its not the building that i miss, because we didn’t have one,and not the choir, because we didn’t have one either,
but i miss the worship, the zeal of God that consumes the people and the preaching(especially from my dearest friend Don Matheny). I thank God for Lighthouse.

I cannot begin to tell you how you encouraged me spritually and how i got blessed when you led worship in kenya.That was at the intercontinental hotel and when you preached mostly in the celebration service.Then Breakthrough at the ufungamano every fridays.You were like my spiritual father.I have been in the states for a while and was recently in chattanooga and knoxville.I know its way to far from memphis,and would love to one day visit your church.Am currently in Boston but am relocating to Houston Texas.I have always wanted to tell you that as a result of your ministry,i grew very much and your congregation are very lucky to have a pastor like you.God bless you and your family.

Greetings in jesus name.It,s a blessing for me to have a chance to get on the net and find some encouraging information and testimonies of those who have been part of Nairobi lighthouse . I joined NLC when we were worshipping at silverspring hotel and I was filled by the spirit then after one service and ever since Mylife was changed.that dates back to 1992. and procedded on until when we moved to city stadium.I had to live for U.K For further studies but ever since The foundation laid in me by the church as a team led by Pastor Don and MS Amy together with other pastors during spiritual foundations , celebration services, district meetings, cells , easter conventions ect has been my bulding block and a pillar to stand to date. Glory be to God and thankyou so much for giving unto the Lord for such like a soul you raised up and prepared me for his ministry and to stand in faith with biblical trueths. I have not found such a place to worship like NLC but where I,m now ,I,m able to apply the same principles and stand in prayer that cells will be part of the churchs ministry. I,m in liverpool and this morning while praying I was compeled to pray for the church just thanking God for what you all as a team have done for my life and for God to extend the church world wide and see his name glorified and many lives changed for his own glory. I,m now married and expecting Twins in july.Thankyou for nuturing the youths to wait on God even as far as courtship and marriage is concerned. I,m one life I can testify that Your ministry had such an impact on my life and I ,m happy I was part of the church for all that time until the year 2000 ,ausust. To all that are in kenya and looking for a place of worship and zelous for God, I recomment you a place in Nairobi Lighthouse Church. Get locked in there and listenn to and serve God with all Your heart, soul and mind. God who is not a respector of persons will meet you and use you for his own glory .I was one of them

I thank God for Nairobi lighthouse because it has transformed my life. After going through PEP and SOL I encounter each day knowing that God has a plan for my life. That I am His workmanship created in Christ Jesus for good works.I thank God for pastor Johnny Umukuro and Ms Anne both of who took me under their wings and pastored me.I had had to travel to the USA earlier this year to further my studies.After all that input that I got from NLC its my turn to win souls and make disciples.I am a missionary because missions is the prerogative of the church of Christ. Praise the Lord! I am a Nairobi Lighthouse member in Darfur, gathering media resources for my employer - World Vision International. I am privileged to have been ‘encountered’ by Pastor Don and my link Pastor Johnny. Yes! Let me re-affirm that cell is life and I am applying the same principles here. We do not have buildings or the stadium to go to on Sunday as Sudan is a moslem country. Pastor Don’s constant reminder that church is not a building can’t be more true in our context. I thank God for NLC. I learnt that God is faithful even here in Darfur. Without the formative milk ingested at NLC, would it have been possible to boldly serve in Darfur? Today I am meeting Pastors from this region to plan how World Vision will support Christ’s ministry. We are reaching out to churches here! My cell meets on Thursdays, Saturday’s and we have service every Sunday. Ofcourse I miss the vigour of the citylights. But how thankful I am for the calling of winning souls and making disciples. Through NLC, the seed is germinating here in Darfur! It is a matter of time and we will have Darfur in the media for the right reasons - for Christ. Nairobi lighthouse church, where do i begin? NLC is home for me. I miss church now that i am not in kenya anymore, but thanks to God that through school of leaders at NLC i am still going strong doing my rhema and living on it, i would like to thank one very special woman at NLC Ms Rita Nzimbi.She helped me get passed low self esteem during encounter, she told me that to God i am never second best but always number one. i have been living as God´s best since then. Thank God for NLC.

I miss lighthouse…i regeret leaving such a wonderful church…i miss cell…it has been 10 years since i came to the states and i am still looking for a good home church. …i miss the one on one touch that pastor gave us…no matter how huge we were, he always had time to shake our hands after service. I moved to the USA 3 years ago and there is not a single day that passes that I don’t remember NLC, especially the foundations classes that we had every sunday at Nazarene church. The foundations laid in my heart are what have strengthened me to stand and my faith has really grown. Believe when you are overseas, your faith is reallly tested but thank God that this makes us mature. Thank you pastor Nelson for your diligence and love and miss your guitar playing!
