The Original Starbucks

Having a cool time in Seattle, connecting with Pastor Kevin Gerald and Champions Centre Church. They’re having a “Team Church” conference and it’s really great. Paul Scanlon, Ed Young Jr. are speaking. Cool stuff.

Those who know me know that I’m a Starbucks fanatic. So, one of the highlights for me was going to the original Starbucks in downtown Seattle. Not much to it really – man have they grown! No kidding – there’s probably a Starbucks on every corner downtown. We also went to Urban Outfitters – one of the coolest stores I’ve been in. Outside the store they were taking a picture of all of their store managers in that region – the average age of the group was like 25. The original Starbucks is down by the famous fish market. We heard them scream a little and watched them throw some fish.

The highlight of the trip was making new friends. John Morgan is the youth pastor at Champions Centre. He’s an awesome mate from down under. We hung out at his place last night and had some Aussie burgers. Check out the picture of Dan Lord (who is our newest staff member at church), John (holding the burger) and me. John is friends with Brian Houston and Nick & Christine Caine so there was a real cool connection. We’re going to have him out to Memphis in January to do some ministry. I also met a great young guy named Tyson. He and Dan have been friends for a while. Tyson has a great servant’s heart and is doing and will do awesome things for God.
